Interview 1 - Zach RichardUpdated Wednesday April 4, 2018 by The Strike Zone.
Facility Coordinator, Alex Bornemisa, had a chance to sit down with AA player, Zach Richard, and ask him about his experience with The Strike Zone Clinics!
What motivated you to register for clinics at The Strike Zone?
The clinics at The Strike Zone were close to home and not a whole lot of places are available. I wanted to get more practice which is why I registered.
What did you enjoy the most about the clinics?
I really liked the instructors. Always friendly and made instruction very clear to follow. (The Instruction) strongly helped my hitting, I felt clueless coming in. Now I remember the instruction to this day. “Knuckles lined up” – and now I do it every at-bat.
How did the clinics help them with your game (Eg. specific skills and/or baseball knowledge)?
I went from House League to Select in my second year to AA the following year.
How did the clinics help with your confidence and/or love of the game?
Pitching mechanics were a lot better, helped me throw harder, and helped with confidence.
Are there any accomplishments that you went on to do after participating in the clinics?
Made AA two years in a row. AA team won EOBA championship.
